What is the RMLA?
The Revolutionary Movement for the Liberation of the Alkebulan is a revolutionary organization that seeks to raise the awareness of Afro people, particularly young people (in Africa, Europe, Asia, and America), about the current imperialist system, the need for the revolution, and prepare them in theory and practice for the revolutionary struggle. The main goal of the RMLA is the total liberation of Africa and Africans, a true liberation on the mental, political, economic, social, and cultural levels.
The ideological framework of the RMLA is the Popular and Pan-African Revolution (as presented in the “Official Document of the RMLA” which is a work in progress). The Popular and Pan-African Revolution (PPR) is an anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist struggle from the point of view of people of Afro identity. Hence, the RMLA aligns itself with revolutionary Pan-Africanism and the tradition of Afro-radical and critical thoughts. Intercommunalism, Internationalism, Scientific Socialism, and Anti-Imperialism are some of the core principles of the RMLA.
The PPR has objectives on different scales: political, economic, social, and cultural with the common denominator being the complete and total liberation of the Alkebulan. The RMLA, in its vision of the Popular and Pan-African Revolution, understands the revolution to be a long process, so the different objectives will be achieved as the new society/system is being built.
Extract from Section 1 of the “Official Document of the RMLA” :
The world is at a crucial period in its history, the forces that were once perceived as invincible (Imperialist Triad States, i.e. the United States, European Union, Japan, and their neo-colonialist allies) continue to intensify their internal and external contradictions. Every human citizen must seize the opportunity and exploit these contradictions to make radical changes. The time for action is now and anyone who cares about change, liberation, justice, and peace must take up arms. Political, artistic, and military weapons to overthrow the imperialist, racist, colonialist, and capitalist world system.
In this key stage in world history, any form of inaction and passivity is only camouflaged support for the systems of oppression. Indeed, the system continues to use trickery and propaganda to keep the popular masses asleep (with entertainment, the media, false promises, etc.). But also, the system makes people believe that they are making some progress when only the bourgeois minority benefits. It is therefore important to renew our consciousness and take real revolutionary actions.
Aware of the current situation of the world and the strength of the masses, we have decided to create the Revolutionary Movement for the Liberation of Alkebulan (RMLA). This organization calls on all people of Afro identity, in Africa, Europe, Asia, and America, to join the fight against imperialist and colonialist forces. History being the best teacher, shows us that whenever a group of determined people gain consciousness and properly organize, nothing can stop them. Their actions are galvanized by their sense of common purpose, and their desire for a healthier and more just reality. The main motivations of the RMLA are both based on peace and harmony between humans, but also the desire to create a fair and just world.
The RMLA recognizes that it is the popular mass that leads the revolution because, without the people or their involvement, there can be no real revolution. However, an organization is needed to coordinate attacks and defenses in the long liberation struggle. This organization offers the popular masses a revolutionary ideology to materialize their desires for change. It is important to clarify that the existence of the organization does not exclude the force of spontaneity, because this spontaneity (a key characteristic of popular masses), when well-oriented, can defeat any enemy strategy. So, the organization will work to consolidate the victories (military, political, economic, or social) resulting from spontaneous movements and to provide a road map for more structured future actions.
The complete and total liberation of the Alkebulan is the center of all RMLA activity. This liberation is part of the Popular and Pan-African Revolution (PPR) as developed by the RMLA. This “Official Document of the Revolutionary Movement for the Liberation of Alkebulan” constitutes the RMLA manifesto. It contains the ideology, objectives, and structure of the organization. It also constitutes the first symbol of the commitment of all members of the RMLA to the Popular and Pan-African Revolution.
The activities and actions of the RMLA will follow a “Five-Stage Plan” that will be detailed in the “Official Document of the RMLA” :
1) Establishment of the foundations of the organization (structure, leadership, and outreach). Therefore, emphasis will be placed on recruiting and training new members. The training will focus on the decolonization of the spirit of the Afro-being and the development of a revolutionary consciousness.
2) Concrete actions on the political, social, and cultural aspects, to establish various solid bases of the RMLA in Africa (in rural and urban areas) and the diaspora.
3) Stage of Militancy (eventually underground and intense armed revolutionary actions) with direct and destabilizing actions seeking confrontation with authorities and oppressive forces. The goal will be to use any means necessary to fully liberate the African Continent from imperialism and neo-colonialism. This will be the most active stage of the revolutionary struggle with
4) Stage of reconstruction and establishment of the new revolutionary system (Pan-African, socialist and intercommunalist).
5) Dissolution of the RMLA when it is judged that the main objectives (political, economic, and socio-cultural) of the PPR have been achieved. The newly established political structures of the revolution (the new Afro Unity Organization and the United African Government) will take over and continue the march towards the PPR
The RMLA leadership also abides by the commitment to the Popular and Pan-African Revolution, to the People, and to the Organization. The leadership is not above the people or different actors in the RMLA, in other words, they have the same responsibility and commitment to the revolution struggle as everybody else. The leadership has the role of coordinating and monitoring the different activities of the organization and ensuring the RMLA remains anchored in the Popular and Pan-African Revolutionary struggle (Extract from Section 8 of the “Official Document of the RMLA”).
The RMLA leadership is structured in different ministries with the current functioning ones being: the Prime Ministry, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
